C'est avec profonde tristesse que nous annonçons le décès de Simone Lacroix, le jeudi 19 juin 2025, à l'âge de 94 ans à Santé Montfort à Ottawa. Elle laisse dans le deuil ses enfants Suzanne (Guy) Carrière de Orléans, Ginette (John) Cashaback de Cochrane, Denyse (Yvon) Dubeault de Goderich, ses petits-enfants Angèle Gratton (Stéphane), Mélanie Lacelle (Denis), Anna Cashaback (Dan),  Daryl Cashaback (Kayla), Kory Cashaback (Michelle), Lyne Dubeault et ses arrière-petits-enfants Danick, Abigaëlle, Adrien, Charlotte, Danica, Carsen, Kourtney, Brielle, Abbie et Hayden.

Simone était la sœur de Gabrielle (feu Romuald) Cheff, Pauline (Jacques) Léonard, Madeleine (Wayne) Koops et Lionel (Lina) Thomas. Elle laisse aussi dans en deuil plusieurs neveux, nièces et amis.

Elle est allée rejoindre son époux Guy Lacroix, une petite-fille Sylvie, ses parents Ovide et Aurore (née Gougeon) Thomas, ses frères et sœurs Simon, Raymond (Thérèse) Thomas, Alice (Raymond) Tremblay, Solange Verboncoeur, Jeannine Thomas, Antoine Thomas (Lina) et Armand Thomas.

La famille accueillera parents et amis à la Maison funéraire Génier Gauthier, 70 Seventh Ave South, Cochrane,  le 27 juin 2025 à partir de 9h30 à 11h suivi par les funérailles qui sera célébrée dans la chapelle, le vendredi 27 juin 2025 à 11h.

Simone sera inhumée au cimetière Catholique de Cochrane à côté de son époux Guy.

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Simone announce her passing on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at the Montfort Long-Term Care in Ottawa at the age of 94. She leaves behind her children Suzanne (Guy) Carrière of Orléans, Ginette (John) Cashaback of Cochrane, Denyse (Yvon) Dubeault of Goderich, her grandchildren Angèle Gratton (Stéphane), Mélanie Lacelle (Denis), Anna Cashaback (Dan), Daryl Cashaback (Kayla), Kory Cashaback (Michelle), Lyne Dubeault and her great-grandchildren Danick, Abigaëlle, Adrien, Charlotte, Danica, Carsen, Kourtney, Brielle, Abbie and Hayden.

She also leaves behind her siblings Gabrielle (late Romuald) Cheff, Pauline (Jacques) Léonard, Madeleine (Wayne) Koops, Lionel (Lina) Thomas and nieces, nephews and friends.

She was predeceased by husband Guy Lacroix, her grand-daughter Sylvie, her parents Ovide and Aurore (née Gougeon) Thomas, her siblings Simon, Raymond (Thérèse) Thomas, Alice (Raymond) Tremblay, Solange Verboncoeur, Jeannine Thomas, Antoine Thomas (Lina) and Armand Thomas.

The family will receive friends and family at Génier Gauthier funeral home on Friday, June 27, 2025, from 9:30 am to 11 am followed by her funeral to be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, June 27, 2025 at 11 am.

She will be laid to rest at the Cochrane RC cemetery beside her husband Guy.
