August 13, 1932 – August 8, 2022
Bill passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the South Centennial Manor in Iroquois Falls on Monday August 8th, 2022 at the age of 89. He was the son of the late Ambroise and Florence Desormeau (nee Marley). He was the beloved and devoted husband for over 60 years to Kathryn Desormeau (nee Way). He was the Devoted father of Christine Brownlee (Bruce Desrosiers), late Loreen Desormeau, Helen Desormeau, Alan (Kim) Desormeau, Glen (Monique) Desormeau and Wayne (Sharon) Desormeau. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Ben, Matthew, Jared, John, Amanda, Nicholas, Ryan, Maegan, Kristen, Aleah, Lauren, Darren, Taylor and Travis, his great-grandchildren Katelyn, Cobe, Caleb, Hunter, Daphne, Orianna, Shayla, Atlas and Viola Rose. He was the brother of late Ernest (late Aline) Desormeau, late Leonard (late Frances) Desormeau and late Dorothy Parr (late Tom). He will also be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
Bill was a kind man who was devoted and loved his family. He always put his family first and was always there for everyone when something was needed. We will remember dad for his patience and kindness. We will miss his talent at the piano player and remember all the songs he would play and sing for us as children and then later for grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a man who could fix and build anything and enjoyed doing carpentry. He taught and mentored many students over the years in high school while teaching Auto Mechanics. He always thought he was so fortunate to enjoy a plentiful retirement at Nellie Lake with his beloved wife Kathy where forever memories were accomplished with family and friends. He will be greatly missed and remain in our hearts forever.
Visitation will be held at Irvine & Irvine Funeral Home, 70 Seventh Ave South, Cochrane on Saturday August 13th, 2022 form 1pm and Funeral Service to follow at 2 pm. He will be laid to rest at a later date at the Abitibi Cemetery in Iroquois Falls.
