In loving memory of
William (Bill) Leacock
January 22, 1961 – May 17, 2021
After a long and courageous battle with cancer Bill Leacock passed away peacefully and pain free at the Anson General Hospital with Nicky by his side. Bill loved life, he loved to be around people, the more the merrier. Bill was born in Iroquois Falls and boy did he love his little town and the people in it.
Bill loved anything to do with radios like repairing them programming them. He was an amateur radio operator, VE3WIL. Bill had a fascination with trains. He had gotten a replica of The Shay and always loved showing it to anybody who came for a visit. He had such a love for all different kinds of music and with the help of his partner, Joe, they built a couple of radio stations over the years. He loved talking on the air with anyone about anything and everything. Bill loved to drive around his beloved town over and over again with Brian by his side or one of his friends or 2 or Nicky if she felt like it. He called these his ‘Loser laps’.
Bill leaves behind the 3 most special girls in his life Nicky, Kayla & Zoë. His friends who became family and were there for him right until the end; especially Dan, Justin, Kenny & Rob. His special cousins who were like his own brothers and sisters and would do anything for him; especially Deedee, Suzie, Marc, Ray & Lise. His mother and father-in-law Marcel & Priscilla Mainville. As well as many extended family and friends. Also his 4 legged furry best friend Brian. Bill loved all of you so much.
Bill is now reunited with his dad Norman, mom Marion and Brother George who predeceased him.
Bill’s family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to all the staff at the Anson General Hospital, Timmins & District Hospital, Health Sciences North, Guardian Pharmacy and the VON nurses, The Paramedics who all went above and beyond for him. We also thank Irvine & Irvine, Jamie & Carine for their kindness during these difficult times.
VE3WIL silent key…. Travelling the airwaves to heaven.
