Yvon Romain

July 19, 1952 – March 18, 2022

Surrounded by the utmost love of his family, Yvon Romain left this world on Friday, March 18, 2022 at the age of 69.

Missing him always and forever is his loving wife of more than 45 years, Della (nee Lavoie), his children Kayne (Ria) and Chelsey (Seb Vachon) and his faithful and loyal friend Mylla.

Yvon is also survived by his beautiful granddaughters Emily and Amber, his sister Linda (Greg) Browne, brother Claude (Dale), sisters-in-law Lois (Orland) Kelly, JoAnne (Rick) McCooeye, brothers-in-law Ron (Debbie) Lavoie, Al Lavoie and Shawn (Natalie) Lavoie, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents Hansel and Anita Romain and his parents-in-law Roland and Dorothy Lavoie.

There wasn’t a song that Yvon didn’t know, a bush road he had not traveled, or a dog that didn’t become his best friend. He saw the magic in a campfire, the beauty of a well played guitar solo and he always had a story to tell.

But more than anything, Yvon loved his family deeply. He made sure their home was filled with music and laughter and especially cherished their time camping up the line and being together on Christmas morning. He lived his life to the absolute fullest, making enough memories to last lifetimes – memories that those who knew him will cherish always.

The family would like to send a very sincere thank you to the staff at Anson General Hospital and the Timmins and District Hospital ICU Department for the care, comfort and compassion given to Yvon over these past few weeks.

As per Yvon’s wishes, there will be no service at this time, however, a private celebration of his life may be held at a later date.
